Humanitarian Country Team
The main interagency humanitarian body in the country, where the Director of the NGO Girls is involved in coordinating humanitarian action at the national level.
The Humanitarian NGO Platform in Ukraine
The Platform brings together international and national NGOs to coordinate efforts and improve the effectiveness of humanitarian aid to war-affected people. The Director of the NGO Girls is the Head of the Platform’s Steering Committee. We are also actively involved in various working groups of the Platform.
Alliance of Ukrainian CSOs
The NGO Girls is one of the co-founders of the Alliance, contributing to strengthening the role of local organizations in humanitarian action.
Protection Cluster
We share information, recommendations, and best practices on how to reach more people with the assistance. We are also actively involved in its sub-clusters, namely the gender-based violence sub-cluster, the child protection sub-cluster, the mine action sub-cluster, and regional working groups of the cluster (Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia Oblasts).
Education Cluster
Work on mental health and psychosocial support in education, and work on improving the well-being and quality of services for teachers.
Health Cluster
Active participation in working, regional, and technical groups to improve access to healthcare, particularly sexual and reproductive health, veterans' care, and scalable psychological interventions.
Gender in Humanitarian Action Working Group (GiHA WG)
The NGO Girls is a co-chair of the Group, promoting the integration of a gender perspective into humanitarian programs.
Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Network
Active involvement in the prevention of and response to sexual exploitation and abuse in the context of humanitarian aid.
Advisory Board of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund
Representation in the Board to promote better allocation of humanitarian resources.
Cash Working Group
Participation in the development and implementation of cash assistance programs.
LGBTIQ+ Technical Working Group
Supporting the equal treatment of the LGBTIQ+ community in humanitarian action.
Expert Working Group on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence
Participation in the Group meetings under the auspices of the Office of the Prosecutor General and JurFem dealing with conflict-related sexual violence.
National and International Advocacy of Ukraine's Interests
October 20-25, 2024 - New York, USA
Anna Povkh represented the NGO Girls at the international conference “Sixth Capital-Level Meeting of the Women, Peace and Security Focal Points Network” and additional events organized during the “Women, Peace and Security Week” in New York. She was also a speaker on the panel discussion “Promoting Gender Inclusive Recovery through National Policies in Ukraine”, where she shared the experience of the NGO Girls in changing gender stereotypes in Ukrainian society.
September 5-6, 2024 - Chisinau, Moldova
Anna Povkh was a representative of the NGO Girls at the international regional conference “Open Day for Regional Women, Peace and Security Dialogue” in Chisinau, where she had the opportunity to speak on the panel discussion on youth participation in civil society.
June 11-12, 2024 - Berlin, Germany
Yuliya Sporysh took part in the “Ukraine Recovery Conference”, which, for the first time, featured panels on gender mainstreaming and women's leadership. Yuliya presented our research on gender-based violence and discussed the importance of allocating funds to the GBV sector, localization of support, and women's leadership.
June 12-13, 2024 - Berlin, Germany
Yuliya Sporysh held meetings with representatives of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) with the support of CARE International. The discussion focused on supporting projects on gender equality and women's rights in Ukraine.
March 18-20, 2024 - Brussels, Belgium
Daryna Ivchenko represented the NGO Girls at the European Humanitarian Forum 2024, where she drew attention to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine through personal stories and examples of the NGO Girls’ activities. She also took part in a podcast about the role of young people in volunteering and rebuilding Ukraine.
March 1, 2024 - Berlin, Germany
Yuliya Sporysh received the Anne Klein Women’s Award. As part of a series of events dedicated to the award, she met with Lisa Paus, the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth; representatives of the Working Group for the Reconstruction of Ukraine; and the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
February 1-3, 2024 - Berlin, Germany
Yuliya Sporysh presented the results of the study “18 Months Later: Assessment of Mental Health and Psychosocial Needs in Ukraine,” conducted jointly with HIAS and the NGO Girls in July- August 2023. The study aimed to determine the current state of mental health of the population, the main stressors, and the barriers to accessing MHPSS services.
February 19, 2024 - Berlin, Germany
Daria Chekalova attended the presentation of the project “Giving a Voice to Ukrainian Children Who Have Returned from Deportations to Russia” developed in cooperation with Terre des Hommes. The project also featured the documentary “The Blue Sweater with a Yellow Hole”. Daria met with Kindernothilfe representatives and spoke about the mental state of children during the war.
December 1-2, 2023 - Lviv, Ukraine
Yuliya Sporysh took part in the international conference “The Role of Women in the Recovery of Ukraine”, where she discussed the European integration vector and the involvement of women in the recovery process.
September 26, 2023 - Oslo, Norway
Daria Chekalova participated in the Third Humanitarian Senior Officials Meeting. She emphasized the importance of localizing humanitarian aid, calling for the importance of the invitation of Ukrainian organizations to future conferences and a review of cooperation with the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
July 17-20, 2023 - Kigali, Rwanda
Yuliya Sporysh attended the WOMEN DELIVER 2023 conference, one of the largest events to promote gender equality. She participated in panels on education, economic empowerment, and combating violence, and networked with activists from Africa.
April 10, 2023 - Brussels, Belgium
Daria Chekalova spoke to representatives of the European Parliament and key civil society donors as part of a panel of experts from Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova. She presented the needs of Ukraine's civil society sector and established new partnerships.

Alina Kasilova took part in an advocacy trip focusing on the gender aspect of Ukraine's recovery. She spoke about the challenges faced by civil society organizations in combating gender-based violence and gained support from the EU institutions.
March 8, 2023 - New York, USA
Yuliya Sporysh took part in the CSW67 event at the UN Headquarters, where she emphasized the importance of digital empowerment of women in conflict. She also spoke about the importance of women's access to digital technologies and their role in overcoming the effects of war. The event was supported by the OSCE, UN Women, and the Government of Finland.
