Gender-based violence (GBV)is a form of violence that includes actions aimed at harming or discriminating against a person because of their gender or gender identity.
GBV is one of the most widespread human rights violations in the world. It does not depend on a person's status, wealth, or level of education. It can happen to anyone. Gender stereotypes and inequality in society make women more vulnerable to violence.
Types of GBV:
Physical violence: hitting, pushing, beating, using weapons or other objects to harm life and health.
Sexual violence: coercion to sexual acts, sexual harassment, rape.
Psychological violence: insults, manipulation, threats, control.
Economic violence: control of finances, prohibition to work or study, damage to property.
We offer free and confidential support and assistance to GBV survivors. The team of experts of the NGO Girls are highly qualified professionals.
The services of the NGO Girls include the work of mobile teams (Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kyiv oblasts), case management (work of a specialist in case management), individual and group psychological counselling, and primary legal advice.
