In March, Yuliya Sporysh, Director of NGO Girls, took part in a series of international events in New York and Washington, D.C., focused on gender equality, conflict-related sexual violence, civil preparedness, and partnership development.
In New York, Yuliya joined discussions held within the framework of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70). The Ukrainian experience was presented as a reflection of day-to-day work in conditions of instability – with limited resources, power outages, and constant challenges that simultaneously drive the development of new approaches relevant to the international community.
In addition to participating in events, Yuliya held meetings with partners and established new professional connections in both New York and Washington, D.C. In particular, she discussed potential future cooperation with Georgetown University, took part in an event hosted by the British Consulate General New York and Women.NYC on women’s entrepreneurship, and attended a conference at the Ukrainian Institute of America focused on technological development during wartime.
This visit provided an important opportunity to amplify the voice of local organizations working directly with affected populations, as well as to strengthen international partnerships for future cooperation and joint initiatives.
