Recently, participants experimented with an open space format, which involved no fixed agenda, expert speeches, or presentations, allowing them to take responsibility for the direction of their discussions and the learning outcomes.
The focus of the open space was to plan communication and advocacy campaigns aimed at overcoming gender stereotypes in Ukrainian society. Participants brainstormed ideas for future advocacy and communication efforts, developed gender-sensitive informational materials, and created a networking platform.
They also learned about the communication strategy and branded campaigns initiated by UN Women in Ukraine throughout the year.
The discussions were carefully documented during the meeting. Afterward, each participant received a book that included minutes from all discussions, project ideas, and contact information for the initiators. This book not only summarized the meeting outcomes but also served as an excellent resource for further developing ideas for communication and advocacy campaigns and fostering continued collaboration.
The Equality. Leadership. Future initiative is implemented by NGO Girls within the framework of the UN Women’s project "Women's Increased Leadership for Resilient and Peaceful Societies" funded by the Government of Denmark, as well as the project “Transformational Approaches to Achieving Gender Equality in Ukraine" implemented with financial support from the Government of Sweden and in cooperation with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and in partnerships with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. Financial support for the initiative is also provided by the UN Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).
